Before - Master bedroom lacking personality

As any parent of small children will testify, the master bedroom should be the ultimate retreat. While home is an escape from work and city life, within the home it’s the master bedroom where we can take that much-needed deep breath and replenish our soul.

The master suite in this Newtown terrace was lacking in personality, with scant thought given to how practical needs could be interwoven with style. It’s a small space, so every design choice formed an essential element of the overall aesthetic.

The padded headboard serves as a piece of art in itself, built wall-to-wall to give scale to the small space and compliment the minimalist luxury. Storage is provided in the form of streamlined bedside tables, which blend unobtrusively into the scheme, while the neutral bedlinen is crisp and comforting. The fan-inspired lamps add a touch of texture to the otherwise smooth lines, effortlessly weaving form and function.

Neutral choices mean the room can evolve as tastes change, and serve as a calming, clean reprieve from the colour and chaos that often characterises a home with children. It’s a place to truly switch off, unwind, and clear the mind.
