A contemporary waterfront apartment
with calm spaces and a timeless look
Moving from a period home into a contemporary waterfront apartment purchased off plan, our client was searching for guidance on furnishing her new three-bedroom property and making it her own.
A calm space with a timeless look
Decorative elements echo
the architectural curves
Moments of colour and energy,
perfectly positioned to enjoy daily
Sophisticated pared-back scheme
of furniture, art and objects
Honouring the architectural envelope's understated modernity and our client's wish for a calm space with a timeless look, we curated a sophisticated pared-back scheme of furniture, art and objects. Studio aem also designed custom joinery for the bedroom, the media room and the balcony.
The decorative elements echo the architectural curves, amplifying the cocooning feeling of plushness and calm. We employed texture to add depth and warmth to the hard surfaces. Soft, beguiling layers of linen, oak and sheepskin come together with limestone and travertine to create a soothing, organic scheme. Our careful curation of original artworks adds measured moments of colour and energy, perfectly positioned to enjoy daily.
The highly resolved joinery designed by Studio aem comprises high-quality oak veneers, and leather-bound pulls, adding storage and purpose to the master bedroom and the media room. On the balcony, cabinetry fitted to contain a BBQ and a bar fridge ensure the apartment's outdoor area - with its views of the Sydney Harbour Bridge - is functional and aesthetically linked to the refined interiors.
The finishing touches imbued by Studio aem combined with stellar architectural design and the precision build have resulted in a finely crafted home that will deliver elevated living and inviting comfort for years to come.
